Michel Alexandre starts his professional career as a graduated optician in 1979 and has today more than 30 years extensive experience in optical fields. From 1985 to 1998, he runs his own point of sale in Paris where he specializes in contactology. From 1989 to 2002, he teaches optics and optometry in Institut Supérieur d’Optique, Paris where he is appointed as education director in 1992. He initiates a part-time training department and develops partnerships with Paris-XI University and with the Ophthalmology Service, Hôpital Hôtel-Dieu, Paris, while training more than 1000 graduated-to-be opticians. In 2003, he joins the Alain Afflelou franchise, he sets up and manages its training department. He elaborates and delivers various technical modules (refraction, contactology, lens technology) and commercial modules (sales techniques applied to optics, management). Since 2000, he has been a regular consultant for Essilor Academy Europe (ex-Varilux University) where he lectures modules in Paris and various European countries (practical refraction, practical optics, keys to understand progressive lenses…). He currently manages his own training company “Formoptic” dedicated to the opticians and their assistants, always aware to deliver any complex topic with simple words to his trainees.
